Nolan VanZandt

Nolan VanZandt is a Son of The American Legion whose connection to military service runs through his family. His father and grandfather both served in the U.S. Army. Nolan first joined the Riders on a Legacy Run and came away impressed by the people, the purpose, and the opportunity to help his community.

Motorcycles have been part of Nolan’s life since he started riding dirt bikes at about eight years old. He quickly fell in love with life on two wheels and has continued riding ever since. Today, he rides a 2025 Harley-Davidson Road Glide.

What Nolan values most about the Riders is the sense of family. He appreciates being around people who share a passion for motorcycles, look out for one another on the road, and work together to support good causes.

Nolan is a foreman for a landscaping company and describes himself as a wrench turner at heart. He enjoys working on cars, motorcycles, and anything else that gives him a reason to use his hands and solve a problem. He also holds a master’s degree in elementary education, even though his career ultimately took him in another direction.

Away from work and riding, Nolan enjoys spending time with his family and friends and taking road trips. He also supports the Wounded Warrior Project through an annual charity cup and has participated in that fundraiser for several years.

Nolan encourages anyone who qualifies for the Legion family or the Riders to reach out and get involved. For him, joining is a straightforward way to meet good people, support worthwhile causes, and become part of a community that gives back.
