Chris Dennis

Chris Dennis is a Son of The American Legion who became involved to help veterans and do good for his community. He previously served ALR Post 259 as a Road Captain.

Chris began riding in the mid-2000s. His sister rode, and seeing her on a motorcycle helped draw him to it. After she died, riding took on a deeper meaning: time on the road became one way to keep her memory close.

The freedom of riding still matters to Chris, as does the chance to get out with friends. He rides a 2020 Harley-Davidson FLHTK Ultra Limited.

Within the Riders, Chris values the camaraderie and the way members come together to support many kinds of organizations. Veterans’ causes are especially important to him. He also cares about cancer support because of his mother’s experience with the disease, along with efforts that help children and animals.

Chris works as a custodian and bus driver, but his practical skills extend well beyond the job. He describes himself as very handy and says he can fix almost anything put in front of him.

His friends know that when something is broken or a job looks difficult, Chris is the person to call. They may joke about using his abilities to their advantage, but that trust reflects how readily he puts his skills to work helping the people around him.

Away from work and motorcycles, Chris enjoys going to dinner, walking his dog, spending time with friends, and being with his wife, Deb.
